After studying in Brazil with Ernst Mahle and Davino Rosa, Luis-Carlos Justi was awarded a scholarship that allowed him to refine his art under the renowned German oboist Ingo Goritzki in Hanover.
Currently a professor of oboe and chamber music at the Federal University of the State of Rio de Janeiro (Unirio), he is also a member of the prestigious Villa-Lobos Quintet, with which he has recorded several CDs of Brazilian chamber music (including one featuring the complete works of Villa-Lobos for oboe).
As part of the university agreements with the Musikhochschule Karlsruhe, Germany, Justi has also been the coordinator of the International Brazil & Germany Music Festival since 2002.
