Oboman is one of the few musicians whose artistic journey is marked by original and diverse achievements. A multi-instrumentalist composer with a solid classical background, he navigates one of the most immersive and convincing artistic paths in our music scene with a skillful blend of discretion and perseverance.
His credo: to build a musical project rooted in jazz, world music, and improvisation, centered around the specific sounds of the oboe, oboe d’amore, and English horn. While Oboman has certainly showcased instruments rarely used in jazz, he has primarily created an unprecedented orchestral color, rich in sensuality and rhythm.
His melodic talents, the rich sound, authenticity, and lyricism of the oboe—an instrument traditionally reserved for written music—combined with extraordinary virtuosity, have earned him recognition in the musical world.
The originality of his journey, as a classical musician drawn early on to other styles (jazz, world music, and improvisation), makes him a unique musical personality today.
