He began studying the oboe at the age of eleven at the Conservatory of Chambéry, before joining the one in Grenoble.
After earning his prize in 1979, he studied with one of the great masters of the instrument, Jacques CHAMBON, at the CNSM in Lyon, completing his studies with Jean-Christophe GAYOT.
Upon graduating in 1985, he became a member of the Orchestra of Prize Winners from the CNSM of Paris, before joining the Strasbourg Philharmonic Orchestra in January 1987.
Passionate about chamber music, he has regularly performed in wind octets, wind quintets, and string quartets, as well as in trios, often with Sébastien GIOT, performing the sonatas of ZELENKA. He has played on F. Lorée instruments since 1987 (oboe, oboe d’amore, and English horn).
